Health Assessments
Health assessments can be beneficial at any stage in life to assess physical, mental, sexual health and overall wellbeing. Book a comprehensive health assessment today, and start on the path to optimum quality of life.

Pathology
If you have undergone tests, you will most likely require a follow-up consultation so the doctor can discuss the results with you. This helps ensure you understand the results and allows the doctor to provide clear instructions if there is a change in the course of your treatment. In the interest of privacy, test results can only be given to the client themselves.
Vaccinations
If you are planning to travel overseas, talk to one of our doctors today for the most up-to-date information about the vaccinations and medications relevant to your travel destination. Some vaccinations have to be given within strict timeframes prior to travel, so see us today and ensure your maximum protection.
You may sometimes need a doctor’s letter to support having specific medications on your person while you travel. We can assist you with this. Our travel consultation provides you with all the information you need to prepare for your journey, so you can have the confidence and peace of mind to enjoy your travel.

Immunisations
Immunisation protects children and adults from a number of harmful and potential deadly diseases. Immunisation is available for diseases such as whooping cough, tetanus, measles, mumps, polio, hepatitis B, rubella, diphtheria and haemophilus influenzae.
ECG (Electrocardiogram)
An ECG is a medical test that can detect abnormal heart rhythms and conditions such as heart attacks, damaged or inflamed heart muscle, enlarged hearts, and congenital abnormalities. During an ECG, small sensor pads are attached to the chest, arms and legs. These pads detect and transmit the heart’s electrical activity, and records this on a monitor screen or piece of paper for the doctor to assess. An ECG is a quick, painless, non-invasive procedure.

Employment Medicals
Pre-employment medical assessments help companies manage workforce risk by ensuring prospective employees can meet the physical and mental demands of the job role.
*(Not Coalboards/Coal Mine Workers Health Assessments)
Drugs & Alcohol
We also provide comprehensive drug and alcohol testing under Australian/NZ standards (AS/NZS 4308:2008), detecting substances like alcohol, cannabis, amphetamines, opiates, cocaine, synthetic drugs, and more.
Women’s Health
At different stages of life, women have particular health needs. At Biloela Medical Centre we understand there is no one quite like you, with your unique requirements. We offer a choice of female doctors and male doctors to keep you informed and provide the best care whether you’re starting menstruation, planning a family, going through menopause, or facing illness.

Pap Smear Clinic
All women between the ages of 25+ should have a Pap test every 5 years even if they have had the cervical cancer vaccine. A CST test is a quick and simple way to check for changes to the cells in the cervix (90% of women who have cervical cancer either haven’t had a CST test or not had a regular Pap test).
Sexual & Reproductive Health
It can sometimes be awkward or worrying to discuss sexual and reproductive health. Our doctors and nurses listen to your needs and treat you with the utmost respect, privacy and confidentiality. At Biloela Medical Centre we aim to be informative and to put your mind at rest. Whether you’re planning a family, seeking advice on fertility, contraception, impotence, libido or sexually transmitted diseases, talk to one of our doctors today.

Minor Operations
Minor procedures can be done onsite at Biloela Medical Centre, avoiding the hassle of waiting in emergency rooms or hospitals. Examples of such minor ops are removal of skin tags, warts, and moles, suturing of superficial lacerations, and small cyst and tumour removal. Please contact our reception desk to enquire about cost and appointment length.
Chronic Disease Management
Our nurses at Biloela Medical Centre are involved in Chronic Disease Management (CDM). The 5C’s in Chronic Disease Management are Control, Compliance, Complications, Counselling and Customisation.
A CDM is a comprehensive care plan that lists all of your health problems, what you aim to achieve, other health providers, medications, community services available to your condition(s) and other information about your health.
Once you have agreed to a CDM Plan your nurse and doctor will prepare the care plan for you. This will involve managing medications, access to your urgent care needs and support for managing appointments for your condition.
Patients who have at least one chronic medical condition or complex medical care needs are eligible for a care plan. A chronic disease condition is one that has been present for at least 6 months.

Comprehensive Skin Checks
As much as we love our sun-kissed lifestyle, living under the Australian sun can damage our skin. The most effective way to limit the risk of skin cancer is through prevention, early detection and regular check-ups. Our doctors are experienced in a wide variety of skin disorders and can advise you on the best possible care of your skin.
We also sell the Allmedic skin repair and protection products which have been doctor designed, developed and recommended.
Dr Tan is accredited with the Australian Skin Cancer Society and treats sun damaged skin with Photodynamic Therapy (PDT). This is a unique way to treat sun damaged, blemished and aged skin on all areas of the body. PDT is a non-invasive light technology used to treat a range of skin conditions in a fast and affordable way.
Cryosurgery
Cryosurgery is a procedure where extreme cold is applied to destroy diseased or damaged tissues and cells. Cryosurgery can be done on the skin or within the body to treat cancerous or pre-cancerous conditions.

Family Planning
At Biloela Medical Centre we understand both woman and men have questions and can experience a lot of emotion around family planning. This includes contraception, fertility, sexually transmitted diseases, miscarriage, termination, sexual function, and the impact other diseases can have on sexual health, impotence, libido and pregnancy. Our doctors understand, we listen and we care, and we’re highly skilled to guide you through this stage in life.
Procedures available on site include:
• Vasectomy
• Mirena insertion and removal
• Implanon insertion and removal
Antenatal (Prenatal) Health & Baby Health
When you are pregnant it is important to take good care of your own health and see your doctor regularly so you can ensure the best health for you and your developing baby. A healthy pregnancy sets your baby up for a healthier life, and helps you adapt to the demands on your body and to maintain optimum health and wellbeing – physically and mentally.
When your baby arrives, our doctors and staff assess and monitor your baby’s progress and milestones, as well as support you as you adjust to motherhood.
